I purchased the original L-1011 for FSX way back when, and
subsequently purchased the upgrade to Pro. I now see that the L-1011 Pro has been upgraded to P3Dv4, and the Pro
Upgrade also announces that it is now for P3Dv4. I've now moved to P3Dv4, but here's the question: I think I need to re-download both Original and Pro Upgrade to re-install into P3Dv4. But if the original is only for FSX, how do I get it and the upgrade into P3Dv4? I haven't actually started to re-download yet, so maybe the question is answered in the downloads. But since the download could take up to 20+ minutes with my provider, I thought I would ask first. Thanks loads! - Bob |

Hi,
If you redownload, the new one has a P3Dv4 option in the installer.

Erm, not true. The original (FSX) L-1011 installer doesn't have a P3D option at all, in fact it doesn't have any sim choice option on the installer it looks for your FSX folder, it pops up a message which says you don't have FSX on your system if you only have P3D on your computer, so it won't install into P3D at all, because it won't work if you manually point it at the P3D folder. I know, because I've tried it. Having said that, you can install the upgrade into P3D okay without having the original exe file installed, because the upgrade file does have a P3D installer, and it advises you to uninstall the original L-1011 before proceeding, so it isn't a problem. But the product page might lead you to think there would be one, since on the system requirements web page for the L-1011 Upgrade, it says you have to have the original L-1011, and so that would lead anyone to think it has to be installed, because it clearly says it is a system requirement. So JF could do with changing that to read, you have to have bought it.
