http://www.justflight.com/developProduct.asp?pid=199 Known as the 'Wooden Wonder', the DH 98 Mosquito was built largely from moulded plywood, combining strength with lightness. Coupled to the power of two Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, the airframe was capable of speeds in excess of 400mph. Deemed ‘uncatchable’ by enemy fighters of the day, the early ‘bomber’ variants were unarmed and simply used their sheer speed to evade deadly air-to-air combat! It is rumoured that the name Mosquito was chosen for the aircraft as it was predicted that it would be a real nuisance to the enemy, as it did indeed prove to be! Just Flight now brings this mean but beautiful machine to FS2004 in a package of 19. The top quality models are accompanied by many high-fidelity animations and superb textures covering a range of aircraft, along with a superb sound set of the distinctive Rolls-Royce Merlin engines. Mosquito includes examples of most of the more widely known variants and serves as an excellent guide to this remarkable aircraft. Designed and produced by Aeroplane Heaven – award winning FS developers and creators of such titles as Spitfire and Lancaster - this package is the definitive guide to the Mosquito and is unsurpassed in quality and content. |

Looks nice!
Suppose it doesn't affect FPS either?
Seeing as it's gauges and switches not screens and buttons!

Hi Mov,
Regrettably we are still wary of giving a firm date on this due to previous slippages. I think what we will do is make an announcement once we are in receipt of the final approved files for both FS2004 and FSX so that we can be sure of any dates we stipulate. Many thanks |

Hello there! Please find some more pics of the Mosquito. Mosquito production is progressing well and we now have a rough release date of mid-late June for the Download version. Scotty,
Is this a completely new product or an update to the mosquito released as part of the lancaster package ? I only ask as there were a few issues with the other version eg, propellers rotating the wrong way, starboard prop not visible from the vc and radiator shutters that wouldn't stay open. |

Hi! Time for some new pictures!
The Mosquito was probably one of the first ‘weapon system platforms’ with the basic design being used far beyond its original brief and taking on any Marks and guises from fighter, bomber, target marker to high flying PR platform through to special use like massive cookie bombs and rotating weapons and night fighting. The new set of screen shots below show some of these models that will be available for the Mosquito software.

Hi, Great news that the mossie is on the way.
I intend to buy the DVD version. However, I don't have an internet connection at home so I was wondering how I would be able to activate the add on packs that will be on the dvd ? |

Out of curiosity will this be released as a full FSX version (as in native models built with the FSX SDK and designed to work with FSX from the outset) or are the models FS9 "portovers" (FSX compatible)?

These are FS2004 models modified to work in FSX, but as you can see they look fantastic in both sims.
