Can't get the cruise speed over 270 kias no matter what I try. A typical cruise would be 25,000 feet with about 30-40% fuel. I must be doing something wrong. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi Lee,
270 KIAS sounds about right for a cruise speed. Broadly speaking, economic cruise was 400 kts TAS at 25,000ft, Max cruise 470 kts TAS at 21,000ft. This model makes a touch over 460 kts TAS at altitude, which will give an indicated airspeed of about 270kts. Thanks Martyn

Hello Martyn,
Thanks for your response. I do understand that 270 KIAS might be the equivalent of a higher TAS but what throws me is that the Mach gauge only will go up to mach .65, shouldn't it be higher like mach .72 or .74? Is that gauge working correctly? Has anyone else noticed anything? Lee |
