I am having trouble whilst using the Traffic Global Setup Wizard. I get as far as Step 2 but then get a Microsoft .Net Framework problem with the message "Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Access to the path is denied

Please report any issues in the dedicated Traffic Global Early Access forum. Details for accessing can be found on the Traffic Global page in the Orders section of your Justflight.com account.

I sympathise as I cannot get past the initial Traffic Global ap or log onto the dedicated forum login
so am about to delete the programme and consider legal action against Just Flight for misrepresentation
of a product. Can you login to the dedicated forum which has no posts so is absolutely useless!

I am also unable to login at the moment (or run the Traffic Global setup utility), but I am certain that the JustFlight team will be doing everything possible to resolve these issues ASAP.

The forum is running OK form me at the moment. It's at: https://traffic.justflight.com/

Login is on the top RH side. The Login is the email address you used to purchase and password is your order number for the product.

We did our best to make it clear (represent if you like) that this is an Early Access product. If you have problems accessing the forum or you can't run the program (NB that there was an update released over the weekend) then, rather than consider legal action, you could just ask us for a refund? No harm done and no need to line the lawyer's pockets. You'll find that's the case with everything we sell if you can't make it work after we've tried to help.

What error are you getting with the forum?

Just flight should never sell and promote Global Traffic when clearly there are so many issues especially as their earlier Traffic 360 installed so easily! As I am stupid you do have to delete Traffic 360 in the first instance?!

Traffic Global is Early Access software. We tried to make it as clear as possible in the product descriptions what Early Access is all about.
Traffic 360 was never an Early Access product. If you want to join the Early Access program its chief aim is to help us develop the software in such a way as it will benefit the majority of users. Traffic programs are pretty subjective and always end up as a compromise - especially given the less than perfect way that the various flight sims handle AI traffic. So, with this in mind, Traffic Global was released onto Early Access to achieve the best result for the majority of users.

Yes, you need to uninstall T360 before installing Traffic Global.

Have you managed to access the TG forum yet?

Many thanks for your prompt response and yes I logged on using my original details! I will try again tonight to get the programme working but if not will wait until the programme is perfect as there is a definite requirement for it and I apologise for my impatatience!

Derek,
can you explain why T360 (or in my case TX) would need to be uninstalled BEFORE any installation of TG?

I have not yet opted to go for the Early Access of TG. If I were to go for it I would want to keep my version of TX in order to generate Business, VFR and Military traffic as TG (as yet) is not going to provide these areas of AI. Any AI traffic program that cannot add these areas of data cannot be considered as a worthwhile program in my opinion.

Other than eliminating any AI traffic BGLs from these programs, I would have thought un-installation was not necessary. From very early on Rich stated that TG would install OUTSIDE of any FSX installation and therefore not interfere with FSX in any way other than creating and placing a new traffic AI BGL in the FSX \scenery folder.

Your comments here would be most welcome.

I was replying to this: "As I am stupid you do have to delete Traffic 360 in the first instance?!"

If you know what a BGL is and what it does and the concept of hierarchies in scenery folders then you can probably leave your other Traffic programs installed. However, if one is trying to get to the bottom of why it won't run for someone who has admitted they are not tech-savvy, then it's probably best to eliminate as many variables and possibilities for conflict as possible.

It`s not something I would consider T360 will install a traffic file in world scenery folder, TG will run from TG traffic files the two my be in conflict, I was using the default P3DV4 traffic at 100% to tweak it for performance, when TG installs it de-active's the default AI,

I have had to give up on Global Traffic as it will not run despite trying everything suggested on the forum so unless a solution is forthcoming from Just Flight I will reluctantly ask for a refund!

Ian,

Please be aware that by purchasing Traffic Global at this stage in its development you bought into an early access product. This is made clear not only in the product's title, but also in its description on the information page. To quote,
Quote inevitably there may be bugs, issues and missing or incomplete functionality in this Early Access version.
Therefore you must be prepared to work with an unfinished product with bugs and all. If you have a problem, make a post on the dedicated forum (which you may have done, I am not a user myself) or send a ticket in to Just Flight who will be more than happy to help you resolve your issue or add a fix for it into the next build. As you will see, during early access stages, updates will come reasonably quickly, so if there is a problem that disturbs the program's functionality it will not be there for long.

As Christopher said, stay calm, and be patient. I can't stress enough that Traffic Global is still an unfinished product and you must expect it to have missing features/bugs; hence the discount on the price. Don't worry however if you don't like it at this stage - you could always just reinstall your previous traffic program then go back to TG when it comes out fully - you will have got a nice discount in comparison to the purchase price after release!

Kind regards,

Max

I've only played around with global traffic on P3D v4.2 a bit. right off the bat i notice a few issues. There are black 737's with winglets. only 737's that have a livery are 737's without winglets. Also, Spirit Airlines flights are in China. Every flight in the database for Spirit is in China. Spirit is a U.S. carrier. Also, I notice Spirit has a318's in the database. Spirit operates a319 classic and sharklet, a320 classic and sharklet, a320neo, and a321 sharklet. The flights also dont depart at the time shown in the database. i tried both zulu and local.

I'm a dispatcher for Spirit which is why i focused on that airline.

Hi there - have you logged in to the Early Access forum? If you can report any issues or suggestions in there the devs can deal with them directly. The black aircraft and departure/arrival times are already covered, I think.

Login is top RH and you use the email address you used for purchase plus your order number.

Hi,

I'm new to JustFlight traffic products and have not made a decision whether I should jump ships from UTL (currently in P3Dv4.2).

I hope you could help me with that decision, so I'd like to ask about stuff that might convince me. I know that UTL is a finished product and TG is not, but generally the program won't be completely redeveloped before it's release, so I'd like to get an idea of where things are now, so I have an idea of where the program might be at it's release.

First - engine sounds. I've read that you include TSS sounds, but do the aircraft also turn their engines on/off with proper audible startup and spooldown sequences? I am not a fan of the way UTL handles that with a basic 1/0 solution.

Second - how is the performance? In UTL I lose a very minimal amount and am able to place as many aircraft as I need to not collide with them but still have a lot going on.

UTL has many flaws when it comes to schedules and sometimes models for flights, so I definitely wanted to know about that. Below the trailer somsone commentet "haha BA 747 with GE engines", which is also the case in UTL, so my question is: Do you have/plan to include accurate models?

In UTL the developer keeps teasing with a power pack that will include new schedules and models (I lost faith in those) so I'd like to know if it's planned to just put the program out and users have to fiddle with schedules or if you are going to change the program with the real world changing (I.e. air berlin going bankrupt and disappear from the add-on etc) and at what rate? Or cost?

Also just while I'm on that topic: in UTL aircraft models for UPS and FedEx were in the program but not the schedule, which could be solved by a single file for each airline that was imported and added all flights. Is this also possible or planned for TrafficGlobal?

Then - of course - cargo flights. Are cargo airlines (including schedules) included and park at the respective real world stands?

Landing/Takeoff - I've seen an AirFrance 777 violently smash all three wheels into the ground upon landing in the trailer - so will this be improved or was this only on the trailer? UTL isn't perfect in that aspect, but their planes land a bit softer and with the nosegear in the air upon initial tuchdown.

As I said above - I'm not necessarily looking for a release version review here but more for impressions and your experience with the program and the developer. One thing is putting out a product, another thing is being dedicated to supporting it and fixing bugs/keeping it up to date with the real world.

Thanks in advance to anybody taking on this list!

Quote Hi,

I'm new to JustFlight traffic products and have not made a decision whether I should jump ships from UTL (currently in P3Dv4.2).

Engine sounds - We do use TSS sounds. Unfortunately there is no provision for engine startup/shutdown sounds in AI aircraft. However, I'm continuing

Hi Johannes,
Thanks for the post. Here are some answers

Engine sounds - We do use TSS sounds for all aircraft. Unfortunately there is no provision for engine startup/shutdown sounds in the AI system, but I continue to look into a way around this.

Performance - so far I have only come across positive comments about how FPS friendly the aircraft are. You can fill out a large airport with only minimal performance loss. This was something we were very careful about when spec'ing up the aircraft models, and it seems to have paid off.

747 engines - as you say, some liveries are using models that aren't a 100% fit. At the moment it is too early to say what the plan is for expanding the aircraft already in the package, but we are certainly looking at expanding the fleet at the moment with extra models and aircraft.

Schedules - again, it's too early to talk specifics, but we will be updating the schedules periodically. For example, during development we were using schedules from Summer '17. As we approached release we were getting comments about Air Berlin etc so we replaced the schedules with a new set from March '18. At the moment, updated winter/summer schedules would make sense. Price etc tbd.

Aircraft in the software but not in the schedules - you can either manually create your own flight plans for any aircraft already in or that you add to Traffic Global. The database is open, accessible and customisable so there is plenty that can be done with extra schedules.

Cargo Flights - a number of cargo flights are included and will be parking at the correct locations

Landing/takeoffs - we've had reports that some of the flight dynamics aren't optimal at the moment as people are seeing some hard landings and elongated takeoffs. We're investigating these and fixing at the moment.

I hope that helps.

Thanks
Rich

Hi Rich,

thank you for your answer! That + AusFlightSimmer's Test Drive made me jump ship. As I wrote - I was sceptical if the purchase was worth it for somebody already owning a traffic program. For me it is very much, as TG gets rid of a lot of stuff that annoyed me in UTL Just as Shane said in his video, if you're willing to get by with it being an early access version, you'll enjoy it.

I'm very happy so far, reported some bugs earlier in the registered users forum!

Thanks again for your help!
Johannes

Support for Traffic Global happens in the dedicated support forum for Traffic Global, which is quite active.

Were you able to access the Traffic Global Early Access forum https://traffic.justflight.com in the end?

If not feel free to drop us a line via https://support.justflight.com/support/tickets/new and we'll take a look for you?

Without having purchased Traffic Global there is no way to really follow the progress on the forum and very tough to know if to purchas or not. I cant understand why they wont let everyone have access to that forum. It would be so much easier to decide. In my mind the product is in terrible shape but without really knowing that for a fact, many issues could very well be solved already or worked on and JustFlight is therefor loosing my business for no good reason.

You are absolutely correct to hold back until the scheduling is more realistic but aircraft resolution is good!

If Traffic X and Traffic 360 are anything to go by, then the scheduling in Traffic Global will probably take ages to sort out

In the early days of TG, Rich wanted to use 'real airline schedules' that would be imported into TG. I personally couldn't see how this was going to be done successfully without an enormous amount of work by people sifting through all of the schedules to make them work in the simulator.
From my point of view, it is a pity that it wasn't designed to allow TX or T360 schedules to be imported (albeit aircraft allocations would have to be changed) considering how much work I, and others, have put into upgrading our TX and T360 schedules.

Good to join the forum - can you help me with Traffic Global compatibility? I'm running P3D v2.5, so will TG be compatible? Obviously I'd like to be sure before I purchase. The product page mentions FSX (and Steam), P3D v3 and 4 - but no 2. Some review sites are showing it as v2 compatible, and it would seem a little strange that it wouldn't be P3D v2 compatible if it's OK with FSX so your feedback would be very welcome.

Hi,
Traffic Global should work in P3Dv2 without issue. It's never officially been tested as I do not have a copy of P3D v1 or v2, but I don't foresee any problems, and I'm pretty sure people have used in in v2 without problems.
If you want to give it a go and you did end up having a compatibility problem, we'd cover you with a full refund so there wouldn't be any risk to yourself.

Many thanks for the feedback, Rich. I'm looking forward to trying it out as I've been living with a restricted range of AI that I originally ported over from FS9! I'm also thinking of P3D v4 now, so that it shouldn't be an issue anyway.
