Hi!

I have a problem: after changing my fuel or weights via default "Fuel and payload" dialog, the plane starts to bounce. This is also happening after landing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xGFhh1-VjI

I'm using P3Dv4 and the latest VC-10 SP1.4, but this problem was also present in SP1.2

Glad to see I'm not the only one whos having this issue, I believe its a contact point area issue with the config thats not been optimized propperly so I'll be having a look at that later on when I get the chance and optimize it abit more.

Very strange - not something I've seen at all through testing and I can't remember it being reported either. I've just made a quick vid of what happens for me going from max AUW to empty payload and 30% fuel:

https://youtu.be/aUb4Cr1ByN4

As you can see, there is no bouncing like you appear to have, just a sedate rise owing to the lesser weight! It's the same going from empty to heavy weight as well, except (obviously) it settles lower.

That was filmed in P3Dv4.2 at the default KJFK airport.
Cheers,
Paul.

It's happened to me from the first time I installed it and I've had to literally spend 2 hours editing the aircraft.cfg to prevent it from doing this. I've managed to solve it but now the wheels are slightly sunk into the ground which doesn't bother me concidering it bouncing up and down was 10x annoying.

Can you please share your aircraft.cfg or describe which lines should be edited? I don't care about sunken wheels, I just want to get rid of this irritating bouncing.

Now that is strange - are you saying that those figures fixed it? They are EXACTLY the figures I still have in all four versions of the sim from development. Those are the figures that SHOULD be in place, are you certain that the figures from your download were different?

It would explain why the first video was so different to mine!
Paul.

I don't know what is the reason of this issue, maybe it's not a contact point, but don't have it with my old vc 1.2 How just look how 1.4 worksCry: https://youtu.be/udUyW0MRseI

Hi folks
I'm having the same issue and it's been there since installation.
It's also there without changing weights.
Also  my [contact_points] values are and have always been exactly the same as mentioned above.
Very irritating.....

Maybe you should try open ticket with support section. I think devs don't care about this issue because a lot of people pointed to it. My ticket was just deleted. I just find an old version 1.2 and it seems fine.

Feedback
The above .CFG file posted by Willy has largely fixed my problem as well as another problem with AP stability and flight dynamics discussed here:
http://forum.justflight.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=31911&title=flight-dynamic-problem
Thank you Willy

I've also had the bouncing problem. Comparing my aircraft.cfg (just bought the plane 4 days ago) with the one that was posted Willykurtz, I think I have found the problem:

The entry "empty_weight_pitch_MOI" read 19115.4 (the new .cfg) vs. 619115.4 (Willykurtz). So the number 6 was missing.
I only changed that and it is a completely different plane now. It has stopped bouncing, it is stable when taxiing and on the runway.

It is a great plane. Looking forward to the updates/the professional version.

Well spotted Chris
As I said I didn't get around to comparing the exhaustive text.
Cheers
