Hi All, Some of you in the London area may have caught an item on the BBC Evening News on 28th July 2017 concerning Bromley Council's plans to demolish part of the BIGGIN HILL RAF MEMORIAL CHAPEL to build an ugly square 'box' of a building which will be the long awaited Battle of Britain Museum. The plans for a mini type Duxford building that could take large artifacts and even an aircraft have been pushed aside for this 'Toilet Block', which it seems will only have photos and video displays. The cost of the 'Duxford' type building was predicted to be the same or less and had no effect on the Chapel A quick witted local resident recorded the News item, which can be viewed by clicking on the link to the Downe Village website and scrolling down a little: http://www.downe-kent.org.uk" rel="nofollow - http://www.downe-kent.org.uk An On-line petition has been started to persuade the Council to think again and it can be accessed by Googling: Protect Biggin Hill RAF Chapel.
