I know p3d isnt officially supported i've installed with migration tool but i am having problems maintaining speed at alt above 17,000 i keep having to use the methanol injectors and full throttle at level flight because my speed keeps dropping even with no headwind any ideas?

Sounds like you forgot to turn on your carb heat. The levers are on your center console below the throttles. 

These old piston engine planes don't do well high up. If you are fully loaded that could be the issue too. Most of the time you have to burn some fuel off before you can climb higher. Don't expect to go much over 20,000ft.
