Can I ask why you are releasing the Captain Sim 757 when you already have the PSS 757? Is it due to demand or something? Smile

Hi,

We always intended to release this product as we have long been publishing Captain Sim's titles

There is plenty of demand from our customers for a 757 that is compatible with FSX, so this fits the bill perfectly. Its probably the best airliner I've seen for FS, so I'm very pleased to have this as part of the JF range!

EL, currently looking at mid November, possibly a bit earlier for the download version but that's not a guarantee.

767N, yes it will be a joint FS9/FSX product.

I can't wait for that.

I just hope the latest service pack CS are producing will make the product pretty much perfect.

Compared to the prices listed on the CS website, £30 for all variants is excellent, especially as it is boxed and includes a printed manual.
I am running a laptop right now though, so using such a simulation properly in FSX will be improbable because of haphazard frame rates and all things associated.
I can get 20FPS in the PMDG747 on FS9 with FSGlobal terrain and all scenery sliders at full though, so the CS757 shouldn't be a problem. Yay!

I was just wondering...will the 757 have a full virtual cabin like the 737 pilot in command plane does?

Thanks

Is the VOR in the FSX version suitable for navigation because it is totally unusable in FS9 ver 2.1.

Hi,

Could you explain how its unusable? What problem are you encountering with it?

Thanks

Is this the exact same product as CS are marketing? I ask only because of the price differences - 39.99 Euros for FS9 & FSX capability with the -200 -300 & the freighters, as opposed to 83 euros for the FSX pro-pack and two expansions if downloaded from CS.
If so, it's a shocking differential!

It is the same software but the liveries differ slightly from what the CS pack contains

When in the HSI VOR Mode the CDI remains centered and will not move. No TO-FROM indications on the HSI makeing it impossible to navigate when using the VOR. When the 2.1 update was released one of the fixes was the VOR/OBS fix. I submitted a request to CS support about the VOR issue and what was the exact fix was with reference to the VOR/OBS but just got a generic response.

Here is an example. Sitting on RWY18R in KCLT. CLT VOR tuned in 115.0 in HSI VOR Mode.
The CRS selector works but the CDI remains centered and no TO-FROM indications.

I hope the CS version is better than the PSS version.  I downloaded it a while ago and even now, despite having a capable laptop (4gb ram, 256mb nVIDIA GRAPHICS, Intel 3.6 ghz and 120GB hard drive), running PSS Concorde & Vulcan, CLS A340 and alphasim jets on FS9 - they give me great frame rates.  The the PSS 757 however, only gives me 10 FPS.  I have tried everything suggested by JF Support but it just does not want to budge to 25FPS - my set Frame rate limit in FS9.  I have since started using the POSKY 757 whcih is ok but I want to have another aircraft on the same level as PSS Concorde.  Maybe CS757 could be the one.  Or maybe I need to get a new Computer.Unhappy

Concorde216, I believe I have a fix to the frame-rates, or at least it worked for me - look in the modules folder of your FS9 folder, and remove the dsd_xml_tcas.dll - cut it from the folder and place it somewhere else for back-up. This moved my frame-rates from 7-8 to 25-30!

Thanks for the info.  I cut the file as you suggested and it has done just the jobBig%20smile.  I am now enjoying 25 fps frame rates at long last.  How did you know to do that?  I have never really looked through/understood all of the FS9 folders tasks, just the aircraft and effects folders when adding freeware stuff.

Will get some screen shots posted soon I hopeSmile

Since installation my PSS 777 always suffered from poor frame-rates, even though the exterior was abismal and the panel should'nt've been too harsh on them. For months I had no idea what to do, until by chance I read in some internet forums somewhere-or-other that certain users were experiencing crashes with those modules, and thought I better delete them just in case (to prevent crashing), and once I deleted them my frame-rates went way way way up, making me more than happy Big%20smile
From talking with other users on various forums it appears that deleting those modules also fixes frame-rates with the PSS 757 and other add-ons too.

If I get the 757, will i be able to 'check in' on the Captain Sim website?

Also, does the product come with the Authentic Sound Set and Weather Radar?

Thanks!

Hi,

You wouldn't be able to log into the Captain Sim site as you would be our customer rather than theirs. Any updates/support would be available for our version via the support section on our website.

I believe our product comes with both the sound set and weather radar

Thanks
