Actually I think it looks quite nice - fortunately we all see beauty differently. The 'xxx' reflects the squadron - 29(R) Squadron. RAF squadrons often have their badges with Roman numerals and 29 would be XXIX. According to which version you believe, the three X badge either relates to a Brewer's mark for extra strong or to the tale of an airman told to paint two Xs then 1 X on an airframe. Alas it seems that the former is the more likely. |
