Hi everybody,

I'm flighting with Connie for 4 months now and I have some issues...

One thing important : I have installed the service pack SP1 for the base pack, the SP1 for the pack A and SP1 for the pack B.

1 - the two main tank don't unfilled together, the right unfill first and when the right is empty, the left tank starting unfilling (emptying ? sorry for the english, I'm french Wink)

2 - The IAS speeds between Cockpit 3D & Panel 2D are differents ?

3 - The temperatures are differents too between 3D & 2D

4 - And the bigger problem is the behavior of the aircraft in cruise, some time the aircraft is starting left & right like the Titanic! with a bank angle about 45° ! This behavior append sometimes too in climb...

I have noticed some of these also

I do not have pack A or B but have upgraded. Did the patch fix anything?

I have an answer for your Airspeed indicator difference. One is MPH & the other is knots so yours actually works out right when you convert.
But have a look at my airspeed difference.

Mine don't even go close to converting

What about the Manifold Pressure differences

Also the radio popup still doesn't have switches.

Thank you for your explanation about the speeds... I'm an idiot !

For the fuel tanks, do you have the same behavior ?

I have not noticed this behavior with the fuel tanks. But because of other problems I have not flown long enough to notice.

To continue, I would like to know if Just Flight is about to release a new patch and improvements about the Connie ?

Hi Jardy,

Have you submitted a support request? http://www.justflight.com/supportrequest.asp?supportProductID=212 - http://www.justflight.com/supportrequest.asp?supportProductID=212

The support team will need to look into these problems for you.

Thanks

I have submitted a request a couple week ago for the fuel problem. The support said to me that my problem is watched by the developers.

I agree, there just doesn't seem to be any way of fuel-balancing with the aircraft. It just draws fuel from the left tank until it's empty, then moves to another tank and draws fuel until that's empty and so on.

There are 4 levers that in the manual are called "Fuel tank selectors", but they just operate as fuel cut-offs to the respective engines.

With that fuel behavior, I let you imagine how I land the aircraft after a medium / long range flight...

Well, I filled all four of the Connie's tanks to 100%, took her up to FL150 and just let her run straight and level, and monitored the fuel usage. here's what I came up with:

Tanks L & R do empty at the same rate. By the time they were down to 50%, C1 was showing 80%, and C2 was showing 95%.

When tanks L & R were at 25%, C1 was at 70%, and C2 was at 90%.

When tanks L & R reached 0, C1 was at 62% and C2 at 67%. HOWEVER, as soon as tanks L & R reach 0, engines 3 & 4 lose all power, the aircraft just enters a steep RH turn and slowly corkscrews down to the deck.

Perhaps I ought to put that on a technical support form?

Just tried a flight with the centre tanks at 0. Guess what? it only uses fuel from the LH tank until that reaches 0 at which point engines 3 & 4 shut down - can't make any sense of it!

It'll be great to have just a little answer by JustFlight, I know that the support is not on the forum but I have sent a request on the support about 1 month ago about the fuel tank problem.

I remember when I have read the forum before purchasing the Connie, it's make me hesitate... But unfortunatly I have purchase this product ! Ermm I'm regretting...

Hi Jardy. The biggest problem that this just isn't consistent - I guess I'll have to experiment to find out the minimum amount of unusable fuel (and therefore additional landing weight),  I have to put in the centre tanks before I'll be able to have use of the full 9,840lbs from the wing tanks. - sort of cuts down on your range though doesn't it?

I don't regret buying the Connie at all 'cos I love the 'planes where you have to rely upon old-style navigation, and with that old girl, I can really immerse  myself in the history; I'm just not a fan of FMC's.

It's a pity that there are so many bugs in the thing - there are two in particular that drive me mad; one is the radio altimeter, where the needle stays still and the bug moves round the dial (???), and the second is the suction gauge which, if the battery is turned on, and FlightSim determines that the time period is now "night", transforms itself from the lovely blue and black to a yellow and brown monstrosity that is the suction gauge of the default DC3! I've mentioned both of these to tech. support, and I got an acknowledgement on one , but nothing else.

The Constellation was produced by an external development group (Aeroplane Heaven). Once we confirm that an issue that has been reported is a genuine bug, we forward those details on to the developer. They will then commence work on addressing these bugs. When a signifcant proportion of the bugs have been addressed, we issue a new service pack. If me, or another member of my team, have told you that we have informed the developers about a bug that you have reported, then it will be on their list.

Unfortunately we can do nothing more until the fixed files are passed back to us.

Thanks

You can stop paying them. Until they fix!!

I just found another bug in the C69 with a couple of the gauges in the right hand cockpit panel. A couple of the bezels do not line up with the gauges themselves.
This plane has more bugs than most freeware products.
Maybe I should have stuck with the Freeware Constellation by Brian Selb.
I'll put in another request to Tech Support. Maybe if we keep plugging away we might get an answer or even better a fix.

Well its "Unfortunate", but - "Aeroplane Heaven" is Gone, Closed their doors - shut up Shop, went Bye, Bye.
So, looks like some of these Issues we'll have to reslove yourselves or just live with it.
I still think the JF Connie is a Great Aircraft tho, few minute problems, but there is great potential possibilties with some Improvement from a reputable developer / Programmer out there, maybe somebody like ( Black Box Simulations), to Fix and make Adjustments !
Maybe sometime this year, I myself will dive into it deep and and Try ???
Below is the Announcement from "Aeroplane Heaven" as to their Closing their Doors. with a Quote at the time from Jf, before JF knew of their closing, back in 2010.

Yes, it is sad that such a great product reached it's end. I hope that at least the developers or someone in JF could redo at least the whole virtual cockpit for the whole bunch.
