I tried the key for Tail hook and it doesn't retract the skid- does anyone know if it actually retracts?
Also, anyone else seeing the bug that makes it impossible to see the left wing or engines from the pilots position?

Tail skids never retract. They are present to allow the tail of the aircraft not to be hit on takeoff. There is a cylinder inside a tail skid on an airliner that compresses to let the technicians know the tail has been struck.
