http://www.securitywatch.co.uk/2009/08/17/yahoo-spam-free-email-for-a-price/

I can see why they're charging for the service, but if people used sender whitelists, it is a guaranteed, no-hassle way to ensure a spam-free inbox.

I've yet to receive spam purporting to be from anyone in my address book.

Best regards,
Vulcan.

Neither have I and I don't use sender whitelists, whatever they are.

A sender whitelist looks to see if the sender is in your address book. If they are -> Inbox, if not -> Junk.

You still need to check the junk for good mail, but once yuo've added that person to the address book, they will always appear in the Inbox.

My e-mail server also marks suspect spam messages as SPAM which makes things easier, too, but there are a couple of companies and other people who still list as spam for some reason (bad DNS config usually).

Best regards,
Vulcan.
