DX10 was the first thing I checked in TrafficX. All aircrafts work and look great in DX10. You should check your FSX installation or video drivers.

 I saw Mr. Northall recent post:

It seems a fair few people are making the mistake of thinking the Traffic X upgrade will upgrade the existing Traffic 2005 files and therefore are not uninstalling '05 prior to installing Traffic X. This is making up most of the people reporting they have no traffic.

Traffic 2005 needs to be completely uninstalled from FSX prior to installation of Traffic X. Despite its name, the upgrade doesn't update the Traffic/Traffic 2005 files, its identical to the standard Traffic X product and therefore any other traffic products need to be removed.
