Gregg Keizer, a Senior Reporter at Computerworld, has just published a lengthy article in which he notes that, in March 2018, Windows 10 lost eight-tenths of a percentage point in user share whereas Windows 7 added 1.8 percentage points. He goes on to say, "The trend line for the two operating systems now indicates that at the end of this year — and just over 12 months from Windows 7’s retirement — Windows 10 will run 45.1% of all Windows systems, while Windows 7 will be on 44.8%."

Fascinating.

I am one of those "45.1%"ers who are still using Windows 7.

Although, this is all well and good. Heck, for all we know, that same trend may have occurred with Windows XP to Vista, or Windows 7 to Windows 8. So that trend may actually be in keeping with exactly what Microsoft expect. And, if that's the case, then, in essence, those statistics are "normal" and really mean nothing.

Interesting. I suppose time will tell. I will continue to use Windows 7 (at home) for some time yet. I use Windows 10 at work. I have a love/hate relationship with Windows 10. When it's good, it's great; when it's bad, it's justifiably terrible.
