Hello,

I hope I'm in the right place to post this. I'm trying my hand at painting the F27 and all seems to be working surprisingly well. I can't just get transparent windows. The cockpit ones are see through, but the rest are either white, grey, pink or red depending on how I've tried to solve the problem. I know it's probably something simple I'm missing and I'm pretty sure it's to do with the alpha channel. I've tried allsorts, even copying from one of the existing liveries. I've searched online and found one or two pointers which unfortunately haven't worked. I've spent more time on this than I should have but like to try working things out for myself, but here I'm completely stumped. If anyone could help, I'd be really grateful.

Jon

I use this tones for Alfa Channel.
RGB: 145-145-145
Instead for windows colors.
RGB: 74-75-49

See my liveries.

Hi Roberto, thanks very much for your quick reply and advice. Your repaints look really good, I'll give your RGB tones a go. If I could get my repaint looking even half that good, I'll be pleased!
Does this make the Windows transparent or give them a reflective appearance instead?

Did you find a solution to actually making them transparent?  I am having the same problem.

I'm sorry I haven't answered before now, I'd given up looking at this thread. I'm afraid I didn't find the answer, so I made my paintkit by copying an existing livery from the aircraft folder. Using Gimp I painted the whole thing white, added layers and repainted all the weathering, rivets etc. (it took blinking hours!) I saved it as .xcf and .psd files in a separate paint folder for later use then painted my livery. Exported as .dds it works well and I have transparent windows. There's probably a much easier way, but after many hours trying with the supplied paintkit and being unable to find instructions or easily followed tutorials, I just made my own way. Mother of invention and all that...
