I would need to check if it works on my system.
Which simulator do you use? (FSX/P3Dv3/P3Dv4/...) |

OK, just checked with the version dated 2017-07-04 directly from Alabeo (I assume that it is identical to the version from JustFlight) in FSX+Acceleration (boxed):
- DME works, but I needed to turn it on using the small slider with the OFF/VOL label. Sitting on the runway of EDDG, NAV1 tuned to 114.05 it shows 0.4 NM. - The fuel computer works out of the box (after manual startup or after Ctrl-E for auto-start) |

Ah, you already found the corresponding thread on AVSIM and you have FSX. I can only say: Works for me (and you found a workaround)

Hi Can you check something for me , in your FSX gauge folder do you have a file ..Radio_C172RG.CAB or a Radio_C172RG.DLL ? Thanks Rich |

Everything in FSX\Gauges containing "172RG":
The change time is not the modified date (which is taken from the archive), but the installation date. I installed the 172RG version 20170704 on July 18th 2017, so this fits well. But it seems that Radio_C172RG.dll survived from the previous install of the old version! Radio_C172RG.CAB only contains .xml and .bmp files, no .dll, but it contains something that looks like a DME implementation: Radio_KDI572_DME.xml ... this implementation references things like L:ASD_AZTEC_PA23_KNOB_DME, but c172rg_interior.MDL references L:SW_DME_ON and L:SW_DME_SWAP ... but on further inspection Radio_KDI572_DME.xml is not used, so this is not the problem. panel.cfg references:
GAUGE_172_DME.CAB was installed on 2017-07-18, too, and contains:
The DME1/DME2/DMEres files are quite similar, but probably not used at all, at least in this aircraft. Radio_KN62A_DME.xml references L:ASD_SWITCH_DME1_KN64A_MODE, but this variable is only read from, never written to, but not sure if this is relevant, because FuelFlow does not exist in any of above files except for Radio_C172RG.dll from the previous installation, so it seems that the .dll file has a higher precedence than the .cab file. I guess we have an explanation why it works for me :) |

Great thanks now I know why mine dosnt work ...the radio_c172rg.dll didn't get installed going by your list of files you have , i had a similar problem with their PA38 also brought from JustFlight it installed the CAB but not the DLL so I ended up buying the PA38 from Steam and it works fine (no radio cab file just the radio dll file)
So looks like we have tracked down why my C172 dosnt work correctly . Thanks Rich |

I just uninstalled the 172RG, verified that all installed files have been removed (including the .dll) and installed again: The .dll file is not installed.
Flue Flow is no longer shown, as expected. But DME still works after turning it on using the black switch (indicated by the red arrow), not the white switch (which switches to using NAV2 instead of NAV1 for DME). The only problem I have here is that the upper half of the LED digits appears a second time between COM2 and transponder, as indicated by the red ellipse. Can you contact Alabeo's support via their website including these details? |
