Myasischev M-50 " Bounder". This large supersonic bomber caught the west by surprise when it appeared at the Tushino Air Display in the 1950s, However inspite of promising much, the Air Force concluded that the TU-95s superior range was of more use than the M-50s speed. several were built but none entered service. Now the last surviving airframe itself is in danger of being scrapped as the Monino Air Museum is relocating the large aircraft cannot be moved to the new premises. It's a real shame as some very significant aircraft are there and their loss will leave a large gap in the Soviet aviation story.
This model is a freeware FS9/FSX model and is well executed. (although I couldn't get all the gauges to appear) Handling is good, but , as you'd expect for an aircraft of this size she is no fighter. All in all though it's a nice addition to the hangar and although a bit crude in some ares is nonetheless a good representation of this largely forgotten aircraft.

Thanks for these pics. I have been enjoying the Discovery prog ....Planes that never flew..... and believe it was mentioned as a rationale for the US developing an interceptor plane.
