Hi all, I have a spare 240gb SSD and was looking to create a cache drive for P3D so that my photo scenery files load faster. I have looked into this and it lost me in the jargon so may have to think again. I am on windows 10 now and liking it very much. I was wondering if installing P3d onto the SSD will have any benefits whatsoever as at the moment it is on a SATA3 HD. Many thanks, terry

Sort YES . As long it is not a Samsung 830 or 840 they're known for getting slow ,due to some issue in the firmware but Samsung won't fix it (EOL products) . The reason i know it's true i got one.

Samsung 840 did suffer slowdowns with "old Data"
Last year Samsung issued a firmware upgrade that fixed the issue. http://www.computerworld.com/article/2836082/samsung-delivers-fix-for-ssd-slowdowns.html Samsung's researchers are looking for a solution to the problem though. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2887255/samsung-promises-yet-another-fix-for-slowed-840-evo-ssds.html So it's not like they are refusing to fix it. |
