Hi all. I was just wondering. Has anyone got FS Global 2008. I have just been on play.com and their were two comments both saying its nothing special. Has anyone got anything to say about it?

Yes. It is excellent! It has complete high-res mesh for the entire world.
NOTE: Not all of the FS world supports high-res mesh. In MS desire to keep the size of FS small, some large parts of the world use mesh interpolation in order to create the terrain. These areas are general in the Middle East/Asia. The areas that "properly" support high-res mesh are North and South America, Europe and Australia. If you're used to the rolling hills of the default FS terrain, this will be a big improvement. FS Global 2008 also features new land class, which is an improvement on the default. If you want to do better than that though, I recommend Ground Environment. It offers better looking land class. NOTE: If you have specific high-res meshes for certain areas of the world, be sure to put those ABOVE FS Global 2008!! FSG2k8 is very good anyway, but some areas have specialized topography (Lukla scenery by Aerosoft is one example - you have to DISABLE the are covered by FSG2k8 for it to show properly due to the aforementioned interpolation problem). Best regards, Vulcan. |
