TrafficX control tower rdar problem

When using the control tower mode I can see all planes on ground and those approaching/taking off in the general view. 
But only those planes which are static on the ground can be 'pinged' to ascertain their details, none of the in flight aircraft are shown in any of the three modes at all, so thy cannot be 'pinged' as stated in the manual.

Is this a set up issue please?

	Interesting. I am sorry to say however that I do not know the answer. Confirming that I can definately "ping" all the aircraft, both on the ground and in the air as well.
