The Just Flight/Aeroplane Heaven is among the best classic airliner sims ever produced. The Constellation was good, the Comet better and the DC-6 is the most polished and enjoyable of the series. The visuals are excellent, the flight model convincing and the liveries in the extras pack very welcome. There are a few fixes needed and a patch would make this addon just about perfect. Some users have mentioned the small tyre smoke animation; and the wingtip lights appear to be a bit out of place. But it is in the cockpit that some changes need to be made. Cockpit controls and tooltips are the main shortfall - AH has always seemed to have trouble with these. A case in point is the Omni-bearing selector knob. It is placed at the bottom of the instrument panel, and tends to be hidden behind the yoke (as in the real aircraft, of course). An option to hide the yoke would help. Also the mouseable hotspot for changing the course is very small and difficult to use - and there is no other way of changing it (no course selector in the autopilot). The hotspot needs to be four times the size and to carry a tooltip with the course selection. At present the tooltip is labelled Decision Height Light, which is clearly not correct. Let's hope JF and AH can spend a little more time to make this classic airliner a real joy to fly on our PCs.
