Hi everyone, after a few years on FS 2004 and traffic 2005 I took the plunge and got FSX and Traffic X, in Traffic 2005 I found it a little annoying to see the International flights parking at the domestic terminals like at Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Cains and domestic flights parking at the international terminals, has that been changed in Traffic X and do the International flights park at the international terminal ? It just looked a little silly when you use to see a Qantas Dash prop jets parking at international gates where 747s should be.

May be possible to specify which gates can be used by which plane.
All planes could presumably be simply classified as GA, light, Medium and heavy. An idea for future releases?

Yes, compared with Traffic 2005, Traffic X has fixed this right up.  Traffic X not only includes plane liveries and flight plans, but also includes airport changes (AFCAD file changes) which include, amongst other things, major reworkings for parking ... including military and cargo parking.  For example, at Sydney airport in Australia (YSSY), all the airlines are "grouped" (all Qantas planes park together and are at the correct Qantas gates, all Virgin planes park together and are at the correct Virgin gates, all Jetstar planes park together ..., etc) ... and, yes ... the international flights all park at the International terminal.  Freight planes park at the freight terminal.  GA planes and business planes even park in the general aviation area.  Depending on traffic flow and free available parking spaces, you may occassionally get one plane which might not be in the right spot, but, you can forgive that once you understand that it happens only because there are no other available spots for that plane at that time.  And, this parking fix stuff is not just at Sydney, but applies at airports all over the world.  When it comes to aircraft parking, Traffic X is a vast improvement over Traffic 2005.

A point worth noting is that for Flight Simulator aircraft park based on the settings they have in their respective AIRCRAFT.CFG files.  One of the settings which affects where planes park is the WINGSPAN value.  For the larger aircraft included in Traffic X, the default wingspan value is not always correct in the aircraft.cfg file, being smaller than it really should be.  This is done to allow for the larger planes to be able to park at some of the smaller airports.  However, it does have a downside in that sometimes the larger planes can end up parking in the WRONG spots at the larger major airports and can sometimes end up parking in spaces where they shouldn't be.  Worse, in some cases, it results in the plane not being able to park at all and therefore not even appearing at the airport.  THANKFULLY, there is a FIX available for this ...

... go to http://www.justflight.com/trafficX-home.asp and then to the File Downloads link (specifically http://www.justflight.com/trafficX-downloads.asp).  Click on the OTHER FILES category and then download the WING WIDTHS FIX done by Jon Murchison.  This corrects this behaviour.  I have used this download with Traffic X since Jon made it available and my airports have come alive far more better than they were with the default Traffic X installation.  Planes which once never appeared at my airports, are now landing and parking at them.  Airports have really come to life with international traffic more so than they already were and everything is far more realistic with this fix than it was with the default Traffic X install.  And, even better, things still appear to work even at the smaller airports.  Thanks Jon!  (Direct link: Jon's wing fix file.)

And whilst on those Just Flight pages there, if you haven't done so already, remember to download and put on the Traffic X Service Pack 1.  It may already be included with your install, but Traffic X has no version number display or anything to double-check with, and it won't hurt if you put this on over the top of your install anyway.  (Direct link: Traffic X Service Pack 1.)  Click here for Service Pack Release Notes.
