Hi, whilst considering buying the 737 PIC from JF, I peeked over onto the Wilco site and saw that they "do not support 64 bit Vista"?

Now since I have Vista 64 Home Premium I was wondering if anyone has any issues with the aircraft, on 64 bit?  I see there are no patch "fixes" for this aircraft so perhaps its ok?

I've not had any problems with the 737PIC in Vista x64. Back last year, I think Just Flight paid people to get the 737PIC properly compatible with Vista in FSX, which is why they charge for the update for FS2004 Vista users.

Thats interesting news!

I have a friend who bought an earlier CD of the 737 PIC (for Vista, FsX) and kept getting CTD's after 45 mins flying.  The faulting module was a 737 guage which seemed to upset the sim?

Perhaps I will give it a go, the other possibility is Aerosoft's PBY Catalina, but on their site they warn that its "not recommended for Vista?".  ?

Difficult to know whats what untill you buy it.Confused

Quote NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MY VISTA 64 AND FSX

There is no good reason for it NOT to be compatible.

Quote BEX

Useless error.

Is DEP enabled? Disable it and try again. Some apps put executable code in memory marked as data, so when DEP is enabled - BOOM - it doesn't work anymore.

Best regards,
Vulcan.

Hi.
DEP is enabled only for the essential windows services, not for all data files.

I am unsure how to totally disable the DEP for essential services in windows or even if this will fix it??

The  fault module ft735.dll, is a guage (I think) which is causing a CTD upon landing. I think its the ground proximity call out but I am just guessing really. Thanks for your reply. I would REALLY like to fix this as it looks a great sim.

Just to add to the DEP (data execution prevention) issue.   Vista wont allow FSX.exe to be excluded from the list. (assuming that this is the executable file that is involved and crashes, although its the 737module thats being executed within FSX?)

Windows help says to contact the manufacturer of the program and ask if an updated version is available that allows DEP to be carried out?

OK, so is it just me or how come no one else is getting this CTD with this module in 737 PIC?Confused

If I could, I would disable ALL the DEP since I know my system's secure and I only run purchased flight sim software.  I have all UAC off and Full access to all the program files folder.  This Vista Nannying is totally bl...y useless.Wacko

Any way to disable DEP???  Could it be done from Systems?  I am out of ideas!
