After some hectic summer weeks of work, CargoScan now operates the "146"

Takeoff from Halmstad Airport

Cruise altitude FL300

Enroute to my 2:nd base ENZV (Stavanger,Norway)

It sure is nice to have a GS of 525kn flying with the wind compared to my C-123 doing 230kn GS in the same conditions.

Got the ILS approach and decending to ENZV controller airspace.

Ive mapped Fraps to take screens on F11, hence the diff brake sign.. haha.
Norway is so nice to fly over. The high cliffs and the deep fjords make a nice scenery.

Intercepted the localizer, gear out slow to 210kn.

City of Stavanger below. On the Glideslope to runway 36.

Full flaps 123kn

Seconds from touchdown.

This plane is soon to be handed over to one of my company pilots. As CargoScan already leased a 737-700C and since I'm already have lots of hours in a 737 the cert is already in the book.

Im terrible sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. Its the last time I use fraps.
Too heavy compression.
Upcoming post will also contain a suprise! As CargoScan grows we want to show that too!

Until next time,

Hendrix

Which 146 is that, and does it have a VC? I've been after a decent 146 for a while.

Hi fellas!!  Its actually Aerosofts Eurowings 2004 - BAe 146 (FS2004). It was on sale and still is I think. Sad part is that its a very beautiful model, with wingflex and all. Also a nice FDE too.. but it has no VC. But the 2D panel is awesome. Very accurate and nice features modeled. A big plus is the soundset. Very realistic.

what's the cargo capacity?

I've been looking for a decent version for FSX ever since I flew Bangkok -> Siem Reap in one.  It was far and away the most fun I've ever had flying.

The cargo capacity is 26000lb or around there. The only drawback is the cruise speed. At economic cruise you fly FL300 at M0.68 and Vne is M0.72 at FL300.  Biggest cargoload ive flown with it is 43798lb.

Regarding the 146's cruising speed and performance, the standing joke was:

Q: why does the 146 have four engines?

A: because they couldn't fit six engines on the wings!
