Just been playing around with REX for a few hours....incredible.
These are the 1MB textures and performance is better than the lowest ASG res. textures. I had 5 layers of clouds at one point.....with 3 of them 3D.....and barely a hit to the framerate. Incredible. Usually, with Active Sky graphics, my framerate would be halved with 3 or more layers. . Regardez......... . . . . . . . . . . . You can touch them can't you ? Go on, I know you want to ! The other benefit, is that the water doesn't have that flickery, shimmery effect when you look towards the sun, and their are no blotchy, pixelation and prism effects in the cloud textures. And, they move very realistically. Nice. |

Nice shots! I am a new REX user myself. Quick question... do you use the REX weather engine also? And if you do, in what sequence do you do it with Air Hauler?
Cheers

Great pics Gabe.
I love the pics which come from REX. I have been using if for a couple of months now, and I am always pleased at the different effects I get at different times of the day. I love the dawn and sunset shots the most.

Real Environment Extreme v2 is downloading now...
Big download, currently 5.25 hours to go, on file 2....
Looking at your pics it's worth it.

Definitely worth it Eller.
You will notice that you will now look outside the windows a lot more and actually enjoy having cloudy days along with sunrises and sunsets.
Having REX made all the difference with my flights. I now take a lot more screen shots than I used to also.
Have a look at some of the options for the ground effects also, especially the runways, aprons, etc. They can be simply stunning.

I particularly like the tire and prop spray effects in the rain & snow. Gives it that hint of realism that was missing before.
