I use a laptop for FSX and other games and yes its possible (as said by other users) to buy a gaming laptop but mine is a mid range one and manages okay but I warn you - laptops get VERY hot when playing games. Mine has had to have a new motherboard twice (possibly a GPU overheating problem) but because its all so close together it heats up very quickly. Mine has an AMD processor which are supposedly hotter than Intel but still im sure the same applies. Now I use a laptop cooler aswell but I am sure eventually it will fail again so make sure you have insurance!

Thanks Martyn, hopefully I will get it soon. The ease of connecting it to my 32" tv is appealing too!

If you really want the equivalent of a top of the range desktop system in a 'laptop', then there is always this... http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2009/05/mandatory-core-i7-laptop-was-anyone-not-expecting-this.ars

That's 'cause they keep leaving more and more out...

What do they leave out? The only thing that's not so cool about them is the lack of HDMI (which I honestly don't use) and that can be solved with adaptors. Otherwise, a Mac has everything my Asus has, if not more.
It also blows much less (never heard fans on a unibody Macbook). |

Oh yeah, don't like it either... True, it doesn't even have an ethernet connector... no DVD drive... Too basic for proper use.

As well as any desktop gaming machine would... Obviously I wouldn't be getting 40+ FPS in that situation |

I was just wondering. Sounds like a good system. May look into it...
