Hey guys.
I've posted a couple of topics here about getting a new computer, my aim to run FSX. I came to the conclusion that I will stick with FS9 until i7 comes down in price (a sensible decision in my books) I plan to spend up to £1000 (I am selling my laptop so this computer will be used for college work, its not just for gaming!) I might go a little over this if I need/should do. Anyway. . . My question is, has anybody been lucky enough to have a computer that can run FSX with everything on ultra-high? When I mean everything I'm talking about well. . . everything. Autogen, AI Traffic, mesh complexity to max, everything! Sorry if I have posted something like this before, it seems familiar I would like to know this before I splash out. I may be picky but for £1000-1200 I expect the best. Thanks in advance, Chris. |

Nope. FSX is so poorly written no computer will have the required *speed* to run it for quite some time.

Not sure I'd say poorly written, more like an archaic title that Microsoft has bolted fancy bits on to at each new incarnation until it’s compromised.
However, if you are sensible and don't go insane with the settings, it will run great and provide an enjoyable flight sim experience.

I can run everything on ultra high, but only get about 14fps. But you don't need to run FSX on ultra high it still looks amazing at medium high.
