Help, I've just added a Bae 146 into AH. Ah is giving me a cargo cap of -0.0039625!!! I've been into the config file, removed the minus signs but AH is not updating. Can anybody help please?

Please copy and paste the [Weight_and_Balance] section and the [Fuel] section from the aircraft.cfg file here.

Also, once the AC is imported into AH, making changes to aircraft.cfg will not affect cargo capacity in AH.  You'd have to sell the AC, delete it out of AH, then re-import it to get the changes to take effect in the AH tables.

Removing minus signs in aircraft.cfg sounds a little dicey.  In most cases they are valid "location" parameters left, aft and below the datum.  If you changed any of those the AC weight and balance could be screwed up.  Changes to aircraft.cfg WILL affect the way the AC flies in FS, even during AH flights.

This is a modified aircraft configuration. I adjusted the numbers to the data on Boeing's homepage (http://www.boeing.com/commercial/757family/pf/pf_200f_tech.html). I still fly the aircraft with its original configuration but I imported these data into AH. (Hope you can use the data..)

As Alladjd mentioned earlier, making changes in the aircraft.cfg file can alter the flying characteristics of the plane.
If you're having problems with cargo capacity, the best solution is to alter the EMPTY WEIGHT to compensate for any discrepencies.
It's also best to check on the max fuel load, and work out its weight. 1 US Gallon is about 6.7 lbs.
Make sure the fuel weights are correct. If they are not you can alter them in the fuel lines in the cfg.. but make sure they are still balanced.

Hope this helps

Quote 1 US Gallon is about 6.7 lbs.

That's correct for turbine fuel (jets and turboprops).  Use 6.0 lbs per USG for Avgas.

Aircraft             :Cessna 441 Conquest II

Publisher/Developer  :Flight 1

Sim Version          :FS9

AH Purchase Cost     :£1,307,980.00

Lease Deposit        :£163,497.50

Monthly Lease Payment:£72,665.55

MTOW                 :9925 lbs

Empty Weight         :5716 lbs

Max Fuel             :481.5 USG

Cargo Capacity       :982.95 lbs

The plane actually behaves more like this:

Empty weight (from FS9).........................5716 lbs

Zero fuel weight (from Flight1 User Guide)......8500 lbs

MGW (from FS9)..................................9925 lbs

Pilot's weight.................................. 170 lbs

Max fuel........................................3225 lbs

Max cargo.......................................2614 lbs

Cargo capacity with max fuel (greatest range)... 814 lbs

Fuel capacity with max cargo (greatest cargo)...1405 lbs

Notes:

1. Payware.

2. Flight above 35 000 feet PA is not approved... So?

3. Flight1's Configuration Manager gives MTOW as 9850 lbs and indicates an overweight condition based on this figure. MSFS does not distinguish between MGW and MTOW. As with the max. cargo weight, the pilot should ensure the specification is not exceeded. I have assumed MTOW = MGW as in FS9 and AH.

4. MSFS does not limit the distribution of cargo between the various stations so it is possible to fit 500 lbs in the nose compartment. Provided you balance the payload correctly the aircraft flies very well.

5. Climb, cruise @ FL400 and descent all at 140 kias gives an extreme range (max fuel, MTOW, no alternative, no hold, straight in CDA) of 3178 nm. It left me with about 15 lbs fuel. Not much of a margin. The flight lasted almost exactly 12 hours.

6. The equivalent with max. cargo (and fuel up to MGW) is 1242 nm in 6 hours, leaving 50 lbs fuel

Aircraft             :Avro Anson

Publisher/Developer  :Dave Garwood

Sim Version          :FS9

AH Purchase Cost     :£763,004.00

Lease Deposit        :£95,375.50

Monthly Lease Payment:£42,389.11

MTOW                 :8500 lbs

Empty Weight         :6637 lbs

Max Fuel             :140 USG

Cargo Capacity       :1023 lbs

Freeware.

There appears to be some error in the modelling of fuel consumption. It flies most economically as low as possible, with a minimal climb rate. Pushing the throttle to the stop, then controlling speed by leaning the mixture right back gives a burn of about 65 lbs per hour at 90 kias, giving about 13 hours flight and a range of 1200 nm.

The plane handles like a barrel filled with 1/3 sand, 1/3 water and 1/3 air which is to say it's a wonderful teacher of anticipatory and defensive flying.

I made considerable modification to the 2d panel. When you purchase the plane in AH, it ships with no autopilot and no chronometer.

Aircraft             :C172SP Skyhawk

Publisher/Developer  :RealAir

Sim Version          :FS9

AH Purchase Cost     :£184,783.00

Lease Deposit        :£23,097.88

Monthly Lease Payment:£10,265.72

MTOW                 :2550 lbs

Empty Weight         :1650 lbs

Max Fuel             :53 USG

Cargo Capacity       :582 lbs

Freeware.

Payware quality.

It handles very well indeed with all the horrible MS bugs like rudder fade, inaccurate fuel consumption and bad sound ironed out. I dumped the stock C172 for this one as soon as I possibly could.

I miss the most important points in almost all posts: fuel burn and range. These are the numbers I have to fill in when importing a new plane.

Range is easily found on Wikipedia for all existent planes, fuel burn is more of an average, it also doesn´t affect anything in AH, it´s just there to help you when you load your plane.

You can leave this empty when importing and change afterwards, Max Fuel divided by Range, gives you an approximate of how many lbs. you burn per mile, mulitply that by cruising speed and you get lbs./h.

Now you just need to divide the result by 6 if you are flying piston prop engines or 6.8 if you are flying turbo-prop or jets.

The result should be Gal/h under perfect circumstances.

To better reflect your personal flying style just take the numbers from AH flight report. It will tell you how much fuel you burnt on your last leg. With these numbers you can adjust within +/- 2%, so the load menu will almost exactly tell you how far you can go with any given amount of fuel.
