Take a look at this video of a 777-300 landing at gilliot airport. I don't think the passengers were too happy with touchdownTongue.

I've been on a few like that. Must have been pretty windy conditions. Pilot just didn't arrest the sink before touchdown - or it may even have been an autoland; even on the most modern of airliners they're still pretty crude.

I remember landing in Faro and the landing was just like that.

I hve aslo done my fair share of hard landigs Embarrassed. But I could use the plane again so I guessthey were perfect!

I feel sorry for the maintenance crews. I'd imagine the landing gear would need a little bit of work after that .
