What happens if the unthinkable occurs?
By that I mean what happens if you go broke? Is that the end of your freight company, or are you given a chance to trade (fly) your way out of debt?
It would be so sad to see the 172 rusting away quietly in the paddock alongside the Mustang, still sitting there with flat tyres and cobwebs all through the wheel wells!
Cheers

Well, one of the design criteria was that it be possible to actually lose at AH, obviously through bankruptcy. Without getting too specific about what they are, there are a few safety nets built in that will provide you some "space" if things are getting too tight. None the less, it is possible to lose it all through poor management, extreme risk-taking, bad judgment, bad flying, bad luck or... inactivity. Remember that many of the expenses in AH are time based and are payable monthly. If left dormant long enough, the hole will become too deep, consuming all the available cash. There is one button on the startup screen that is the equivalent of tipping your King over on the chessboard...it says, "Delete Company". There's another that says, "Start New Company". You wouldn't be the first bankrupt businessman to close his company and re-open it the next day under a new name. John Allard |

Thanks John.
Just one question - do you ever sleep?
Kindest regards

You'll think I'm making this up, but I'm not. Yesterday Duncan, the developer, posted these exact words on the AH Tester's Forum...
"- sleep is for chumps!!! Let's fly!!!!"
With a leader like that, things get done.

Malcolm, you always can sell the 172 and Mustang, and try to start from zero with the same company after pay the bills if the money can cover that, I think! or always start a new company...
Will be fun, if the AH can show us as a stats how many company's go to bankrupt from begin, just for educational purposes and how many still working, maybe the dev. already they had thought about this ;)

Hi Herege
I like your way of thinking, and as you say it will be fun, no matter what happens!

Yes, you can always sell them - IF you bought them. If you only leased them, all you get back is your lease deposit.
John
EDIT: ...and if you've had an accident and the AC is damaged and you can't afford the repairs, you can't sell it even if you do own it.
JDA
EDIT EDIT: I've learned that what I said is incorrect. You can sell a damaged AC but the price you get for it is proportional to the condition. Same with returning a leased aircraft - you get less (if any) of your lease deposit back.

Malcom, It is always important to know what it can happen, but we have that to be positive, and to have the amusement factor as an objective in AH too
But start low and slow will be the key for success, and a good balance of the accounting too
