"Major new product release - We'll shortly be announcing details of an exciting new release which we will be publishing on DVD and by download. It's completely new and already causing quite a stir among those who know of its existence! Newsletter readers will hear all about it first..." You may have noticed the quoted statement above in a new item on the JF main page today. People who read this forum might be well-advised to keep an eye out for the upcoming announcement and release. You just may find it particularly interesting...

Get yourself signed up to the newsletters. Not only is there a great freebie airport for FS2004 and FSX but you will be the first to get the above exclusive news! I'd stake my reputation (if I had one) that this could just be your new "favourite thing for flight sim in the world"

I (and several others) have been hard at work as a tester on the development of AirHauler for over a year - now we can talk about it. If you liked Cargo Pilot, or even if you didn't, you're going to love this one.
Have a look through the thread at the top of this forum for Suggestions for CP2 - if it makes your mouth water, then AirHauler will be your cup of tea. This app is not CP2, but is an independent development that does not use any of the CP coding, but of course has some things in common as it's in the freight hauling genre. Anyway, probably 80% or more of what's suggested has been implemented in AirHauler along with many things not mentioned.
This thing is fantastic. Check out the link in the post just above this one to the JF "In Development" page and there's another link in that article that takes you to a Preview article at Mutley's Hangar. I've written an update for the preview article (which was originally posted a few months ago) and that should be up in a day or two also.
There's a web site and public forum at www.airhauler.net

EDIT: They're busy at JF Towers! This thread has been copied over to the new AirHauler forum, so if you're reading it there, the reference to the "Suggestions for CP2" thread may not make much sense. That's a sticky-post that is at the top of the JF Cargo Pilot forum.

John's right in that it's entirely separate, but a big thankyou to Wolfgang for letting me use his Scenery parsing library which is more elegant than the way it was previously :) |

Sounds really good! I presume you need to start from a small aircraft and work your way up to the big jets?

There are different difficulty start up options where you have an aircraft and some money in the bank or a career mode. You can buy or lease aircraft which gives you the opportunity to operate a larger aircraft without the initial outlay. (Besides the deposit)
Have a look at the preview http://mutleyshangar.com/features/jda/ahpreview.htm there's lots of good info there but it was written3 months ago and there have been new features added since. I hope to have a revised, more up to date version published by tomorrow evening at the same web address. Cheers |

One of the primary design criteria was that folks who wanted to fly the big iron could make their way to that relatively quickly. There are several design features that support that...
- Starting levels - various starting AC, cash amounts and company reputation levels
- Bank Loans - borrow the money for the big iron, then fly it and pay it off with the revenue generated
- Aircraft Leasing - Pay a lease deposit that is a fraction of the purchase price of the AC, plus monthly lease payments as you go along
- AI Pilots - They fly your company AC when you can't and generate more revenue for your company
- Stock Market - feeling lucky?
We wanted to do that without stooping to a ridiculously easy business model. The test team feels that Duncan (the developer) hit the correct balance pretty well. When you get the big one, you'll feel like you've done something to earn it, but it shouldn't take terribly long.

Tom, If you have more questions, you might wish to have a look at the AirHauler Preview article that's at the Mutley's Hangar site... http://www.mutleyshangar.com/features/jda/ahpreview.htm It's just been updated to include reference to the latest features and is a reasonably complete description of AirHauler and it's features.
