Quote Protectionism would be a sure-fire way of turning recession into depression

Idiot!

If UK workers are UNEMPLOYED, then how the hell does he really expect us to get OUT of any kind of recession/depression????

If foreign companies come here, with foreign workers, then we're not even EXPORTING things to make money, because the money is leaving the country!!!!

Workers having jobs is insufficent. We could have 100% employment, but if all the companies are foreign and the money is leaving the country, THAT IS NO GOOD.

We need not only for UK people to be employed, but in UK companies!

If you wanted to buy a controlling share in ANY French energy company, YOU CAN'T. Why not? Becuase the French Government have bought shares intentionally to prevent foreigners from taking them over.

What do we do? Sell ours off to the French - FOR £1!!!!!

So, if protectionism is so bad, why do other EU countries practise it?????? We seem to be the only country who believe this rubbish that the EU and politicians are spewing.

We need to get out of Europe, get some real British manufacturing back, start employing UK-only workers, and start making some money and export again.

Gordon Brown wants us out of a recession and not to make it worse - this is the ONLY real way to get out of one.

Best regards,
Vulcan.
