(versus the dollar)

I've been hoping to buy a new quad core CPU for my system, but have been waiting for the price to drop for months now. Unfortunately due to the plummeting value of the pound against the dollar, the price of the Q9550 intel CPU has actually gone up by almost £50 (despite a price cut I think) during this time (I don't know whether to laugh or cry). 

It's quite frightening isn't it? I remember when the pound was worth over 2 dollars (less than a year ago I think). I hope these issues get sorted out soon.
