It's only just been announced, and most discussion takes place on Facebook and Twitter these days.

Download size is currently tbc, no seasons as its photo-based scenery and no photos are available of winter.

Faceache and Twitface is where children hang out, not simmers.
I don't go there and never have. So that's two us.

Why not tell us here, in your forum?
Your Social Media representative is very remiss.

Well yes, you said what I was thinking.....!

Clearly the very existence of these forums relegates such a comment to illogical twaddle..... but I prefer a little sarcastic irony sometimes ...

(The "suggested topics for discussion" in my post, could hardly be answered in 150 characters.... that seems to be reserved more for spreading racist rhetoric and stirring up nastiness in the world...
.... and I can't even get on Facebook as I am not a member, and many accounts do no allow access unless you too are a member.)

Anyway, I am sure there will be much discussion, and comparisons with other products, over the coming months.

I am a great supporter of Just Flight, buying all my addons here, where possible, so will be watching with interest.

You can access Facebook without an account.

https://www.facebook.com/justflight/

We have 519,000 followers on Facebook, so it tends to get the lion's share of attention.

Children generally eschew Facebook as it is where old people hang out to swap their holiday snaps and discuss things like aeroplanes, old cars, motorbikes and sheds (and flight simulation).

Twitter is now up to 280 characters and Mr Trump is using it to run the USA. So whatever your view of him, it certainly exerts an influence on world events - generally good for brief announcements and updates.

Finally, there is the good old Internet (thank you, Mr Berners-Lee) where we post news on our website:
https://www.justflight.com/articles/vfr-real-scenery-nexgen-3d-coming-soon

So - our apologies for not making any announcements in the forum but we've not tried to keep the news quiet - it was in our newsletter that went out on Friday.
If you've got any questions about VFR NexGen 3D any of our products, feel free to ask in the forum and we will do our best to reply - but you will have to forgive us if we direct you to a more lengthy answer that we think may be of help, even if it is in another place.

Oh pleeze.... don't tell me that Trump's use or rather 'AB..use' of Twitter is validation of its autuority.

He's causing worlwide meltdown of the financial markets and arguably inciting racial violence. News today: since Trump started using Twitter to "run the world" ( Really ? !) attacks against Jews has increased 4-fold.

You are not talking to 10 year olds here.... as opposed to the mental age of the average Trump supporter.

OMG, I'm off to lie down in a dark room, and count the IQ points I've lost today as a result of partaking in this inane thread.

The Dalai Lama and the Pope also use Twitter. However, the vast majority of its users (like us) simply use it to impart information. People have been using newspapers, radio, telephones, televisions, broadsheets, handbills and even stone tablets to disseminate news and, sadly, hate - and peace, and love. And news about photographic scenery.

"Don't shoot the messenger" is a very laudable sentiment.

Just to be clear we'll tell you what you need to know here in the forum, once people ask the questions and once the product is released it will get it's own channel in this forum but for now the product details have only recently been announced.  Mainly in our Newsletter last week with links to more details about the product offering and also there's a link to the product page on our website for Volume 1.

Here are both of those links in case you've missed them.  Hope that helps for now.

Bet you don't have 519,000 customers of flight sim products, so `proof` of what exactly?

I carried out a straw poll of our pilots at our flying club. The only ones who use Twitter do so for business and Faceache is so they can keep an eye on their kids and NONE do so to buy Flight Sim products (nor Train Sim, for that matter). I'm back over at the weekend when there is always more activity so I'll ask again.

Of course, while they are up in the air or at the Club they aren't ON any social media...excepting news and weather pages.

I wonder how many of the 519,000 appear on your customer Lists? How many have been active in the last 180 days?

I'm a marketing professional in real life and my last job was to measure the true effectiveness of social media on sales for a nationwide specialist retailer. Spending, I suspect, considerably more than you on their SM presence. We stopped anything more than a superficial presence and saved more than £50,000 UKP and it had no detectable presence on sales. At all.
Then we upgraded their website to a modern look, and saw enquiry uplift rise by 15% in one week...

Support your customers where they are, not where they AREN'T. Wink

This is all fairly pointless but just for the record we're well aware that only a small portion of those who frequent our FB and other Social Media areas are currently Just Flight customers.  Loads more obviously have an interest in Aviation and have perhaps tinkered with FS or thought about it but not taken the leap just yet.  In the same way we send out news to GA magazines and even advertised with them in the past, prospective customers are there, not converted currently in the main but we'll willingly show them and talk about our products and perhaps at some point people will take their interest further.  If they don't then that's fine.

Whether that number was 5,000, 51,000 or 510,000 as things stand we'll still use that outlet to post up details and news of upcoming products.  As we have done on our website and in our Newsletter to our customers.  So not sure what the problem actually is.  The news item on our site and in the Newsletter carried far more details than we posted on the Social Media announcement so we're more than happy with where we're currently putting out relevant news and details.

As mentioned we'll happily discuss our products in this forum as and when the release gets closer and as and when people ask questions that require answers.  No problem with that at all.  Thanks for the advice.

I don't care what a marketing professional says here in an unprofessional tone, but I'm using Twitter, I'm following JustFlight's Twitter account, sometimes I notice their offers there first.

Twitter is a great way for me to catch up on news (flight sim and other) during the bus commute, so I appreciate JustFlight's presence there. Companies I appreciate are more likely to get my attention, my money and my recommendation to others.

Do I look like I care what you think of me? We are simply expressing an opinion about the usefulness of TwitFace as an information medium for prospective customers.

Your opinion is duly noted, as the only Twitface-using, Bus-travelling prospective customer so far...
Only 518,999 to go...

Gee... you lot still arguing !

Well ? Will there be any blurries ?

BTW, I haven't read any of the above. But I assume my original query hasn't been addressed ?

(I haven't and will never, join Facebook. I prefer REAL friends, and as for Twotter, I am not narcissistic enough to think for a second, anyone really gives a hoot, what I think !)
