I have PA28 lll &IV installed in FSX - latest installer (13.6.17) but find fps massively reduced to 1 or 2 fps. Switching to the Hawk trainer I get 18-20 fps. Default aircraft give me 30 fps on my ageing AMD 6900 graphics card.

Point is I was getting reasonable fps with the PA28 until yesterday - I haven't added or changed anything to FSX, so baffled at this sudden drop in performance.

I have AS16 running UT2 and Orbx Global etc. I'll post this in support also, but wondered if anyone else has this problem?

Any ideas?

Are you running FSX in administrator mode? That has been known to resolve this issue with other aircraft in the past.

Thanks

Yes, FSX set to run as administrator.

Hi,
Martyn meant that if you were running it in Admin mode then it can cause problems. Untick that box and the problem should be fixed.

Thanks

That fixed it - but hey, I've always run fsx in admin mode, and the PA28 worked fine when it was first installed. I don't get it!
Thanks guys for prompt response.
I guess I need to research now what effect running in normal mode with Win 7 will have on other FS add ons.
