Is it required to own the planes in fsx to fly them in ah2

Well, yes - how can you fly the plane in FSX if you don't have it? AH uses your add-on aircraft from FS (along with the default). AH2 doesn't come with any aircraft itself.

If you mean "own" as relating to FSeconomy then the answer is yes, unlike FSE where you can rent an A/C, AH does not follow that style of borrowing an A/C to fly a job.
