I am begining to like the Panavia Tornado after some of the problems have been adressed, but i stil have some issues with it.

The first problem is the moving map in my aircraft is not moving.Well, some times it will update it's position, but not in a frequence that will make it useable. The only thing it will do all the time is rotate when you turn the aircraft.

I read that there will be some changes to the moving map in the next update some hopefully the problem will go away than.

Second problem is that i still have the floating navlights, but thankfully i could easily fix that myself by deleting a few lines in the lights and smokesystem entrys. The ones in red.

[SMOKESYSTEM]

smoke.1= 19.5, 2.6, 1.0,        JF_Tornado_refuelprobe
smoke.2 =-17.5, -1.70,    0.46, JF_Tornado_Smoke
smoke.3 =-17.5,  1.70,    0.46, JF_Tornado_Smoke
smoke.4 = -13.0, -14,  0.61,   JF_Tornado_nav_red //wingtip light Retracted 65
smoke.5 = -13.0, 14,  0.61,   JF_Tornado_nav_red //wingtip light Retracted 65

Last problem i have is with a distortion in the pitch ladder of the hud. If i make a left turn the pitch ladder gets out of shape.

I have had that problem with other huds and i seemed to be related to the dimensions of the gauge. If for example the gauge size is 300X300, but on the panel it is mapped as 300X320 than the distortion would happen. unfortunate  because i can't edit the panel. cfg, i can't check if this is the case with this hud.

As for the rest i have no big issues with this sim,  think it gives you a good understanding what a Tornado pilot has to deal with when flying his aircraft and that is whats counts.

Best regards, Albert Vermeule

Picture of the hud doesn't appear in post. Hopefully this one will.

I know this is of no use at all, but at no time during the beta, nor with any of the release versions, have I seen this happen. Does it still happen using the default eyepoint? And how about at different zoom levels? And are you using the wideview=true edit in your fsx.cfg?

I don't think that's the Tornado HUD. The Tornado HUD's do not have those digits displayed like that. Have you somehow copied in a panel.cfg or dll from another aircraft?

Well i be, your right. Turns out i have a (rather old) cab file named hud in the gauges folder and that got selected instead of the hud.dll in het panel folder. After renaming the old hud my pitch ladder problem was solved.

Thanks.

Great.
I'll change the name of our hud dll in the next service pack so that it is not so generic. That should stop something like this happening again.
