What is the difference between FSX & FSX (Steam). Has any person done a comparison chart of the variations.

The Steam version requires you to get permission each time from their servers before you're allowed to play the game you've purchased.

The Steam version has a host of improvements and bug fixes. Visually it looks better and performance wise it runs better.

In addition to what Bob said, I run Steam in offline mode. Once set up right, I can play all my Steam games without an internet connection.

After following those instructions, could I then unplug the ethernet cable from my (WiFi-less) machine and still play FSX whenever?

Hi Bob, give it a go and find out. Remember though, you may be running add ons that would still like a live internet connection, like for real time weather.
I have quite a few Steam Games that run fine with no internet connection, but I don't run FSX Steam.
