I've noticed that if you create your own flightplan with FSX instead of using the default direct AH GPS, the aircraft used changes it's callsign. For example, I use the AXE with the callsign as "Jetstar 700" (An Australian Airline, aircraft rego is VH-JQI). After flightplan creation with FSX,instead of ATC using the callsign "Jetstar 700" it now uses Victor Hotel, minus Juliet Quebec India. It does the same for any Foreign registered aircraft, repeating the Reg no. instead of callsign. It has reverted to the phonetic callsign and even pronounces the 'minus'. If I access the aircraft menu in FSX to change it back to Jetstar 700, the settings for the aircraft previously entered are lost. The same problem occurs with the NGX and indeed, any aircraft using an Airline callsign and flight number.
Any possible causes or solutions would be appreciated, as it is at the moment it adds alot of fiddly and extra work to undertake the flight. |

It's not something AH can set, but FSX can. If you want to use non-standard ATC callsigns, you need to create ATC profiles for them. i.e. you can't call your company "SlopeAir" and have ATC refer to you as "Slopeair 1" without some extra config in FSX's ATC files (airlines.cfg iirc).
When AH creates the flight plan, it doesn't know the "proper" airline callsign for the aircraft (as they can be different for each add-on aircraft), so it passes over your company name. FSX can't interpret that as it's not on it's list (unless you add it yourself), so FSX will drop back to phonetics. |

Thanks for the reply Slopey, I'm not sure I understand. Jetstar 700 is the default callsign as previously set, even before running AH, why does AH cause this to go back to the registration number that is never used on this aircraft.

Because AH sets a different ATC_Callsign than the one in the aircraft.cfg or the variant config as it ignores it.
Hence FSX doesn't know that it's "Jetstar 700" as AH is telling it is "your company name". Because there's no entry for "your company name" in the airline.cfg of FSX, FSX defaults back to the phonetic registration.

Got it thanks - perhaps that could be added to AH2 wish list.
