Okay, not all of us are pilots but PC Pilots. However, regardless of that, if you hear this noise in the cockpit, you would want to investigate why it was sounding, right? Clearly, these two didn't think it necessary.

IIRC, you'll get the gear down warning when the throttle is below a certain level in a TB20 - so they were likely used to that initial warning sound after which they'd normally deploy the gear on the approach. In this case, they forgot - looked like an interesting strip anyway, so likely concentrating on the approach, ignored/accepted the warning due to the throttle setting on the approach, and by the time the 2nd alarm kicked in, they were in the flare and it was too late.
That's going to be expensive - likely shock-loaded the engine, not cheap to replace! |
