Done my Met exam today and passed! I got 90% so very happy, next I'm hoping to do the Communications exam so I think that should be a bit easier.
So far I've done my Air Law, Human performance and Met, feel like I'm starting to get through them now.

Well done Tom :-D
How did you find the human performance as that's next on my list to do? |

Thanks, I found the Human performance exam quite straightforward, it's by far the easiest exam I've done.
If you've got an ipod or phone, have a look at the great circle app, I think it's about £3 per subject and it uses all the questions from the PPL confuser which is now discontinued.

Well done Tom, interestingly that's the exact same mark as I got.

Well done! Getting there. Have you started on navigation yet? I found that one the hardest.

Thanks, I've started nav exercises in the aircraft, but not started reading the book yet. I'd imagine it to be quite tricky, although there are 3 or so questions in the exam paper which ask things like: What is Dundee tower frequency? What hours are Dundee Airport open at weekends? And it;s just a case of looking at the attached sheet of paper and finding the info on there. That's the one I'm going to do after the comms.

Nav depends on accuracy. Make sure you have sharp pencils, that your whizz-wheel isn't slack, and that you know how to use it and how to use the wind wheel on the other side.
If you've done real world nav, the plog/winds bit is simple, but take your time and read the questions - it's very very easy to plan to the wrong point, they're quite sneaky in that the wrong answer will also look perfectly plausible. |

I had planned to sit Met this weekend (but the best laid plans of Mice and Men). I tried that app you suggested and hated it. The questions were weirdly worded and some of them (I felt not relevant) so I am sticking with the PPL Perfector!

What do you think of the PPL perfecter? I got a copy the other day and tbh was really disappointed. The quality of a lot of the diagrams and even the front cover are very poor. I think the PPL Q&A is much better as it is set out like the real exams are and also has a key facts section at the start of every topic.

The PPL Q&A is excellent, only problem is that once you've done the exams; that's it. There's no other questions in the book for your subject (and there are only 3 exams per subject).
The "summary" section though in the Q&A is superb, I found it especially useful in Meteorology.

+1, the "Perfecter" does not include a summery chapter nor is it set out like the real exam.

I imagine the aircraft general exam is going to be quite a hard one...
