I've cut out thin strips of MDF and socked them in water for about 20 mins so they can be shaped round into the window. I've now drilled 3 of the strips onto the window and it's given a really good effect. Hopefully I'll get a pic tonight if not tomorrow in the daylight.
Also, does anybody know where I could get some perspect plastic cheaply? I had a look around Wicks, but it was £30 for a sheet and that would only cover the front window, so I'd need to buy two.

How big were the sheets in Wicks? Trent Plastics do 3mm 1Mx1M sheets for under £20, they also offer custom sizes too.

They were pretty big, can't remember exactly but about 2 m in length and 1 m in height.
Thanks for the link, I'll have a look.

Here are some more pics: All I need to do now is put on a roof inside, finish the windows and give the whole sim a good rub down and fill in any holes. I think the shell should be finished and painted by Sunday. Then the hard part starts...the instrument panels and pedestal....

Mind your cat doesn't use it as a scratching post Tom.

Tom will have to put it down as the RAF do '#CAT1'' or ''CAT2''
'unserviable'

Sadly don't have a cat anymore, I don't think my rottweiler will be interested in it though!

That Cessna 150 cockpit on Ebay is definitely worth a punt! You really couldn't do any better than that for a realistic shell for a light single/twin. All you'd need to do is cut out the panel to pop the monitor behind and add some mounting options for the yoke etc.

Thanks guys, the cockpit looks really cool but just not practical. It's probably all rusty and it would be difficult getting it into the house.
