Bembridge airfield on the Isle of Wight off the Hampshire coast has been the home of Britten Norman Aircraft for many years. althought production was moved to Romania for a while their presence has continued and now they are back in business again, here we are taking an Aurigney Trislander in for a servicing, A nice day off from island hopping......
Approaching the Isle of Wight from Jersey downwind over Bembridge the BN works service aircraft from all over the world a German BN2B Islander A BN2A another Islander on air test A mechanic getting stuck into a trislander from the US testing the engine, being very careful not to walk into the propellor ! our own aircraft being serviced another US Trisander landing I got the chance to have a look inside this one Nice cabin. notice the "do not lean out" notices ! such is the claim culture these days, Pax have to be told for their own safety ! A departing Islander towards the end of the day our own plane is ready. Taxying out for take off the nearby pub looks inviting we depart into the gathering dusk and are soon heading down towards Jersey in the fading sunshine. thanks for viewing |
