OK I completed the support form last week and responded to the one email that I received where I provided the error details. I have since not heard anything. Even after asking for a status update.

The software is not working properly and I could use some help. What is a typical response time and mores so is it typical to not give status updates?

I understand about workload and complexity of problems can make resolution unpredictable. But  just a status update???

I was asked by Martyn:

Please go into this folder: D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\JustFlight\TrafficX\Presets\Data\Airports\

Inside that folder, can you see the file ‘Airports.tcc’?

My answer is not only is that file not there I have no folder with that name.....

I've heard nothing since.....

Have you tried to do a search in Windows for that file ("Airports.tcc")?  A Windows search may find the file, and the folder.  Search both C:\ drive and D:\ drive.  If the search doesn't find it then that could be the possible reason for the Exception error.

Files such as "Airports.tcc" (and there are other similar ones) are required for Traffic X to work.  Maybe the files are installed, but could be on the wrong drive or in a location that Traffic X is not looking in. Perhaps there is reason to do a re-install of Traffic X?

Thanks for jumping in to provide some help. I have a file like that its located in:

D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Presets\Data\Airports
These files are located in that folder:

Airports.tcc
Countries.tcc
tz.tcc

I have done a reinstall of Traffic X and the update as well

Yes, those files seem correct.

You said you had done a reinstall of Traffic X.  Were those files there before the reinstall ... or did they appear only after the reinstall was done?

After the reinstall, does Traffic X now work?  Or are you still getting the Exception error?

I note that your files are in:
"...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Presets\Data\Airports"
and not in
"...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\JustFlight\TrafficX\Presets\Data\Airports"

Your path doesn't have the "JustFlight\TrafficX" bit.  I gather that during the install process you decided to manually enter your own choice for the path and removed the "JustFlight\TrafficX" bit from the installation's suggested default.

For comparison purposes, here is what I have on my computer (note that the filesizes for these files may differ on different computers because of edits made to flight plans and aircraft etc, AND, I also used my own path choice when I installed Flight Simulator ["C:\Games\FSX\..."]):

No not working as of yet

Very good. Before install I did not look for the files. However I just ordered an SSD for my C: drive as I had a Raid failure and will reinstall and pay close attention to where everything goes.

During my installs I only changed the drive letter from C: to D:
I do have the path below just no Airports folder........... I thought about just moving that Airports folder to the path below....

...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\JustFlight\TrafficX\Presets\Data

Lets see what happens in my next re-install and the information you provided will really help to compare the final install.

Ahhh.  No airports folder.  That could be the root cause of the issue then.  Interesting that after providing your fault log you were asked by Martyn if you could see the "Airports.tcc" file on your computer ... and now you are mentioning that you do have the aircraft and airlines folders, but you don't have an airports folder.

This is now resolved! The issue seems to have been a bad install (disk). It would not install properly. Resolved using the DL version. Thanks to the folks who helped to resolve this and enduring my frequent pleas for help!

I opened a support ticket and the resolution came from the support team. You might want to contact them via the support form and they can work with you as I also have the disk.

Hey Regan, if you haven't done so already, you might want to send them a little reminder prompt again via the Just Flight Support link ... here: Support Request.  (Remember to change the drop down option on that screen to "Traffic X".)
